Counselling offers a safe, confidential and supportive space where we can work together to help you step back and re-balance your life.
Life can feel out of balance
Sometimes life can feel out of balance and we get weighed down. This can come after a series of challenging events or in response to a change in our lives such as redundancy, the loss of a relationship or even after the birth of a baby. There may be things from the past which are causing emotional distress in the present.
Counselling can offer a safe, confidential and supportive space where we can work together to help you step back and re-balance your life.
Counselling Approaches I Use
Person-centred Therapy
A gentle, supportive and holistic way of working keeping the client at the centre of therapy. Providing space in a non-judgemental environment for clients to discover and accept all aspects of themselves which can allow them to develop solutions to the issues causing distress.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Explores how our thoughts (cognitions) can affect our feelings and behaviour which allows us to develop more helpful patterns of thinking and behaving. You will learn strategies to use in a variety of situations, making life more comfortable and bringing back a sense of control.
Transactional Analysis
This approach looks at the ways we relate and communicate with others. You will explore the ways in which past patterns of relating are affecting current relationships and learn more about the Parent, Adult and Child within each of us and how Life Scripts can be changed. TA can be particularly helpful in couples and families therapy.
